- Mollie: Whenever the gas in the car gets to the quarter-full mark, Mollie gets riled up about finding a gas station asap, even though we have about 100 miles left.
- Kasey: When I buy new clothes, I don't like to wear them before I wash them. It's not that I'm afraid that other people have tried them on, but I feel like I have to wear them after they've been washed and dried like all my other clothes.
- Mollie: Very strict on expiration dates. One or two days after the dates the food is thrown away. If the food even looks at us the wrong way, it's in the garbage.
- Kasey: Already blogged about, but yes, I put my shoes on in the house even when I'm not going anywhere soon.
- Kasey: When eating, I usually eat one thing at a time. If I have burger and fries, I always eat the burger first and then the fries. I also usually eat the things I like least first.
- Kasey: I am a morning person. I don't like to sleep past 8, and "sleeping in" for me is 7:30. I think the best schedule is 10:30 pm to 6:30 am. I like to have to wake myself up, and not wake up naturally.
- Mollie: Predominantly with clothes, Mollie will buy something, and then often within mere days decide that it's the ugliest thing she's ever seen. One second it will be her favorite, and then she'll hate it.
- Mollie: Picky with food, and if a parallel can be drawn between the food's texture, look or taste to any gross thing, she won't eat it. She's also very creative about the comparisons. Some things taste or have a texture like a corpse, dog's breath, a farm, raw goldfish, boogers, etc.
- Mollie says this is quirky about me: I take big bites (she uses the example that I use one bite to eat a fun size candy bar, but I think its quirky to take two).
- Kasey: I like to use the same pen, one that I used on my mission. It's a classic ballpoint pen.
- Mollie: This is the biggest quirk, and it runs in her family. It's difficult to describe. They should have a team of scientists studying it (I think of Bill Murray on the Royal Tenenbaums). She freaks out and has to destroy things that look "picky". Picky means that things are clumped together and ordered, especially in nature. She freaks out when she sees the seeds in a green pepper, sunflowers, coral, barnacles, fungi, etc.
- Mollie: Also a family quirk, she is very particular about lighting. She hates overhead lighting. So we will have five lamps on in the room for everywhere, instead of using the two bulbs in the ceiling fan. I like nice even lighting, but she has to have area lighting. I don't like how the room is dark except for several spotlights that are shining around the room; it's like being on a stage.
We're both weird, and it makes things interesting.
This is so great. Mollie's food texture/taste comparisons...out of this world. So funny. I'll always remember first learning about "picky" things. I think I understand it. That might be a bold statement.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Mollie about the lighting, all the way.
Jimmy hiccups after he eats, every time. Drives me insane. He also sleeps on his back, both arms straight up in the air, and he tickles them with his hands.
Can't wait til Rex and I find out each other's quirks. Hopefully none of them are deal breakers... ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd Mallory, just so I understand correctly, Jimmy tickles his own arms while he sleeps?
Molly, you are correct. He indeed does do this all while completely asleep. He also talks, makes abrupt noises and makes a little "poof" sound as he breathes, pushing the air out of his mouth.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, lamps all the way. Overhead lighting is way too harsh.
